New Irish Artists on Caroline Louise Art - Spring 2013

I'm very excited to tell you about the new direction I have decided to take with Caroline Louise Art this Spring.

I will be using all my resources to support and promote New Irish Artists living and working in Ireland and hope to provide a platform for them to announce their presence on the art scene, and of course, for them to sell their work thus enabling them to create even more.

This project will need lots of support and goodwill from the public to reach its full potential and provide our talented artists with the means to create the artistic gems that will add to our already rich heritage. Please sign up for our newsletter or send us your email address if you would like to help, or simply just to keep abreast of how we progress.

And for all you loyal fans of Caroline Louise Art, I will of course be creating more of my own work which will be exhibited as normal in addition to being posted here. If you haven't already, be sure to send me your email address so I can keep you updated.

Come with me for what promises to be a challenging yet hopefully rewarding time for all involved!

American Consul visits Caroline Louise Art at collective exhibition at Casa de Cultura

'Fuengirola, Spain. On Thursday February 3rd, 2011, at the Casa de Cultura in Fuengirola, an exciting exhibition of works from a number of important and well respected artists was held,' writes Chris Stone in All Art News. 'Organized by Stephen Howes of Stephen Howes  Fine Art, the inauguration of the exhibition was well attended by well over 150 persons, including the American Consul, artists, as well as visitors and critics who had travelled internationally and are involved directly in the art world. Television, radio, and press were also in strong attendance supporting this important cultural event."

The art on display was varied and of a high standard, and included the works of British sculptor Christopher Stone, painters Andy Bonomo,  James Connell, Laim Delany, Caroline Cary, Stuart Briggs, Johan Wahlstrom, Marco Bombach, Caroline Louise Smyth, Jim Park, Nicholas De Lacy Brown, Janette Lockett, and David Hulston.

Stephen Howes said, "This inaguration was a complete success and far beyond our expectations, we are positive that the remaining  weeks of the show will easily tip the balance proving that the art market on the Costa del sol and else where is an alive and healthy business that can go from strength to strength. I believe that now is the time for the sturdy and the brave to gain their  toe hold and go on to become  future market leaders in the art world.

The outcome of this show for me and my artists is a sure sign that my next spectacular 'A Million Euros of Art', to be held at the Marbella Casino in May will be one of the greatest art exhibition ever held in  Andalucia.

"My team and I are at this moment negotiating with a major London venue regarding our future project that will be held there initially before moving on to Chelsea and New York.

Late Late Show exec stops by...

The Late Late Show Executive Producer, Larry Masterson (pictured), stopped by today to view some of the remaining paintings from my exhibition. One of his favourite pieces, 'Snakes and Ladders' (pictured), will shortly be on its way to the UK, to the home of its new owners in London.

This one off piece of work needs to be seen in the flesh to get the full light effect produced from the use of three shades of gold leaf paint on an undulating 'mixed blues' layered background with multicoloured ribbons. A more detailed photographic representation will be available to view in the gallery over the next few days.

Seeking relaxation, and business, in Sunny Spain

With the last stand from the exhibition barely packed away, I was hot footing it to the airport to seek some relaxation in sunny Spain. A few days later with some good food, wine, chat and sleep under my belt and I feel almost human again!

The rest of this trip will require some business mixed with pleasure as I look to increase my portfolio of Spanish clients. The vibrant acrylic colours that I use look fantastic on whitewashed walls with the intense Spanish sunshine to light them and I am working towards having my first exhibition in Spain, in Spring/Summer '09. For updates on this event please sign up to my newsletter for further information. http://www.carolinelouiseart.com/Newsletter_Signup.asp

Caroline Louise Art - Summer '08 Exhibition & Sale - Sunday

The last three days have been quite unbelieveable! Running a solo exhibition of this size was a huge gamble however I was determined that with some hard work, determination and a bit more hard work, it would be a success. It has been more successful than I would have dared believe and for this I have to thank YOU, my existing clients, for your unending support of my work, my new clients, some of whom I'm delighted to say purchased their first pieces of original art from my collections, and those who visited my exhibition and provided me with incredibly kind words of encouragement. Keep in touch - there will be many more events to come!

RTE's Sean O'Rourke visits Summer '08 Exhibition & Sale - Saturday

Sean O'Rourke took a break from RTE's The Week in Politics to visit us on Saturday evening. We are pictured alongside my 'Gold Rush' range from the Fine Art Collection which has been one of my best selling ranges. The gold leaf paint used in this range is quite dramatic. While it is a very difficult, and often unpleasant, medium to work with, I love the effect it creates. Its reflective qualities are in stark contrast with the black backgrounds I use in most paintings from this range and each piece can look dramatically different depending on the light it is exposed to and the situation in which you chose to hang it.

Caroline Louise Art - Summer '08 Exhibition & Sale - Saturday
Today was our first full day exhibiting at The Stillorgan Park. My sister, Nicola, and mother (pictured), were kept busy at the reception area all day and I was delighted that so many of my regular clients were able to make it in to see my new work on display. Your support and custom is very much appreciated!

Caroline Louise Art - Summer '08 Exhibition & Sale - Friday

After many 7 day weeks of never-ending hours preparing for my first public solo exhibition we were ready to receive our first visitor on time at 4pm today, due in no small part to the trojan-like effort from my brilliant family, the staff at the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Eriva Event Management and Verve Marketing.

I have to admit the evening going by in a bit of blur such was the intensity of the last minute organisation required to get the exhibtion up and running but as any exhibitor will know, the first sale (not to mention those that follow) does a lot to allay any fears or apprehension one may have before any such event! In the few hours that we opened on Friday, I was blown away by the attendance levels and thrilled with the feedback regarding my new collections.

Exhibition and Sale - 16th - 18th May is fast approaching....

I hope you all will be able to join me in The Stillorgan Park Hotel on either Friday 16th, Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th May.  The last few months have been incredibly busy in an effort to have two complete collections ready for exhibiting and I'm really looking forward to revealing some of my newer, previously unseen, pieces that weekend.

The Exhibition and sale will be a great opportunity for you to buy quality original art at affordable prices. From first time art buyers, to seasoned collectors - there will be quality art for sale, for all!

Make sure to come early so you can choose see the largest range of my work. The internet is most certainly a wonderful tool for exhibiting my work but there really is no subsitute for seeing the work in person and I am thrilled that so many of you have already told me that you will be coming.

The detail and true colour blends can only really be appreciated when seen 'up close and personal', and the Gold Rush range, in particular, looks spectacular in the flesh, as the gold leaf paint that I use tends to loose its impact when photographed. Similarly, the luminosity of the range of colours used in The Dream Factory range lacks its vibrancy and punch when transferred to a pc screen.

New Range for The Interior Design Collection
'RAFAEL' - my new range for The Interior Design Collection is fresh, modern and truly adaptable. This range is typified by the use of precise striping on a white background in addition to the use of one of several gold leaf shades. Each of these pieces is hand painted, and, for the first time, every painting in this collection will be framed, unless otherwise requested. You can choose from completed works from the RAFAEL range or commission your own piece. For further details, to the 'Contact Us' pate to submit a query.

New Range Update

Gold Rush is the new range that I am creating for The Fine Art Collection. It will consist of approximately 50 canvases when finished. Images of a selection of the paintings will be available to view online in the coming weeks. As the title suggests, gold is a common theme through the range with varying ammounts of gold leaf being applied using different techniques to different pieces of work. This range is highly stylised and unique. Make sure to sign up to the newsletter to keep updated with news regarding these one-off pieces of original Irish Art!

The Rain in Spain (most definitely) Stays Mainly in the Plain
Spain has been the inspiration for a lot of my work, particularly the Spanish Passion range in The Fine Art Collection. I come to Spain as often as possible and have done since I was a child. I love the light in Spain and effect it has on colour, as well as its passionate people, diverse culture, complex history and of course, its wonderful food. With all that just a plane ride away, it is no wonder then, that I have left cold, dull, dark and  blustery Ireland to recharge the batteries for a couple of weeks. The weather is remarkably beautiful here at the moment so it with great ease, that I can sit outdoors and work on new ideas for upcoming ranges!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everybody! Best wishes to you for a very happy and prosperous New Year.

The goals set for Caroline Louise Art in 2007 were ambitious to say the least and it is with total joy that I can look back, having achieved more than I could have dreamt of in such a short space of time. 2008 will be about consolidating, pushing on and surpassing targets, introducing my art to additional clients and exploring a whole host of new ideas for my work. I hope you stay in touch with developments via the website and keep in touch by email or phone.

New Range Preview & Drinks Reception update

Previewing the paintings that I have been working on for the first time is always somewhat daunting but I am thrilled at how samples from my new range were received yesterday. Amid the festive decorations, high spirits and wafting aroma of mulled wine, guests (including Mrs Lucinda Goodbody - pictured right) surveyed my wares while enjoying a drink or two, and a spot of light conversation. It was a great afternoon and I can't wait to finish the range in time for my scheduled launch in the spring.

Our Christmas Party was an opportunity for some really good pre-Christmas fun!!

New Collection Update

I can't believe that December is almost upon us although the ever-shortening days should leave us in no doubt that the winter has well and truly arrived!

The new range for The Fine Art is coming along steadily and I am very pleased with the results so far. Blacks and golds are, without doubt, the outstanding colours of the range although I have used some reds and browns too. As always, I have blended a lot of the colours myself and have been able to incorporate some great new textures using gold leaf, which create wonderful effects depending on how the paintings are lit.

I have attaced a small section of one of the paintings from a group entitled 'Ancient Harvest'. All the painting from the new range will be available to view and buy online in the coming weeks. Make sure to sign up to the newsletter so we can let you know when the paintings go on sale.

Exhibition and Launch of carolinelousieart.com

Hi everybody and welcome! What a few weeks it has been!! Two collections previewed at my first open exhibition and the launch of the www.carolinelouiseart.com !!!!

Thank you to everybody who attended the event on Thursday night (04/10/07) and Saturday (06/10/07). After months of near (voluntary) solitary confinement, it was great to get out of my ‘painting clothes’ and meet old friends and colleagues, in addition to some new ones.

The positive feedback I received regarding both collections was overwhelming and greatly appreciated, and I am truly delighted that so many of you decided to purchase a painting(s) on the night.

The paintings will be available to view, for the next couple of weeks only, by appointment, should you or your friends wish to view them. Please contact me via the ‘Contact Us’ page to arrange a viewing.
